Saturday November 13th
at the Greentree Radisson in Pittsburgh
Besides all of the other wonderful things happening that day, here’s what’s in it for the illustrators:
- Take part in SCBWI’s customary Illustrator’s Round Table discussion. We’d all love to hear what you have to say.
- Learn about creating book covers and other useful illustration and marketing tips as John Blumen shares his 34 years of experience in illustration.
- Join Nora Thompson as she shares her thoughts on Blogs, Tweets and other social networks and their benefits to you.
- and we will also have a group portfolio review…so bring your portfolio.
And also bring your promotional materials to be displayed for the editors and all of the attendees to view.
see WPaSCBWI.com for more information
This year’s ILLUSTRATOR CHALLENGE
I would like to involve all of the illustrators in this years challenge: designing our second annual lapel pin.
Last year’s by John Hinderliter will be available at the conference.
The design must include:
- the date: 2011
- WPaSCBWI (in any readable form)
- a simple graphic to somehow symbolize children’s books.
You can use almost any shape, the longest part being approximately one inch to one and a half inches.
For presentation purposes make the design larger than the actual pin on a 7.5″ x 7.5″ sheet of white paper. They will be displayed at the conference.
Please send the designs either to my mailing address or to my email RoseGauss@me.com before October 25th.
Have fun with this and good luck!
I hope to see you at the conference on November 13th!
~Rose

[...] I will add all of the entries this evening with no names or websites…and then AFTER the conference I can re-post with their website information. They are all so beautiful, I can’t wait for you to see them all! Thanks to everyone who entered. For more information. [...]
